Cookie Policy

By visiting our websites, certain information may be automatically provided to us by your computer. For each visitor to our websites, our webservers automatically recognize the visitor’s domain name or IP address. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer when you connect to the Internet. As part of the protocol of the Internet, webservers can identify your computer by its IP address. In addition, we may collect your browser type and operating system as well as your internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, date and time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We collect similar information when visiting our websites with your mobile device, including mobile device brand, model, mobile operation system and carrier. Except as otherwise explained in this policy, we may combine the non-personal information we collect from you (as described above and as described below, under “Cookies & Pixel Tracking”) with your personal information in order to tailor our websites and enhance your online experience by saving your preferences and/or to help identify site features, advertisements and offers that may be of interest to you.

When we use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet, these companies employ cookie and pixel tag technology on this and other websites in order to help select the ads that are displayed to you. For example, it helps ensure you do not see the same advertisements repeatedly and to display advertisements more specific to your interests. For these efforts we comply with the Digital Advertising Alliance industry standards for Canada and the U.S . For more information on your Ad Choices please visit one of the links below. Our Privacy Policy does not cover the information practices of other companies and organizations who advertise our services outside our site, and who may use cookies, pixel tags and other technologies to serve and offer relevant ads.

Some newer web browsers incorporate “Do Not Track” features. At this time, our websites may not respond to “Do Not Track” requests or headers from these browsers. (Please note: opting out of this practice does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.)

Sarent and our partners use cookies, pixel tags, etags, HTML 5 storage and similar technologies that enable, among other things, the tracking of your actions as a user of various websites or recipient of e-mail messages. “Pixel Tags” may be used. Pixel Tags may be used in connection with our web pages, our online advertising, or our e-mail messages, either by Sarent or by our service providers, business partners or other third parties. Pixel Tags are used to collect typically anonymous data to help identify types of information, including popular destinations, average rental prices, quote and conversion rates, click-throughs and other information to improve the service you receive or the relevance of advertising directed to you. Pixel Tags may also be used to identify which online advertisement or email has brought you to a website. Further, certain Pixel Tags may be used by other companies for the purpose of tracking visits to their websites, identifying if such internet traffic came from a Sarent website or confirming your eligibility to receive services or benefits from such other companies.

Third party cookies or Pixel Tags may collect information about a user of our site’s online activities over time and across different web sites. Some of our web sites may use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and other, similar technologies (e.g. Pixel Tags) to collect information about website use anonymously and reports trends, without identifying individual visitors. We use third-party advertising companies to serve advertisements regarding goods and services that may be of interest to you when you access and use our websites and other websites, based on information relating to your access to and use of our websites and other websites. To do so, these companies may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser (including through the use of Pixel Tags). If you would like to learn more about this practice, including your choices with respect to it, please visit and or

We do not respond to a web browser’s “do not track” signal, or other mechanism that indicates a request to disable online tracking of individuals who use or visit our websites. As the internet and other eCommerce channels continue to develop, we may deploy and utilize different types of technologies to collect data regarding your visit or usage.

D. Sarent does not transfer or disclose any personally identifiable information to Facebook or combine any information obtained in connection with these terms with personally identifiable information. Sarent will not share with Facebook information that we know or reasonably should know is from or about children under the age of 13 or that includes health, financial, or other categories of sensitive information.

E. Sarent is aware that Facebook may include notice in or around our advertisements explaining that the ad is targeted, and will not modify, obscure, or otherwise interfere with these notices, including any technical components that enable users to access additional information or choice mechanisms.

Conversion Tracking
Using conversion tracking Sarent creates a “purchase” conversion tag and places it on our purchase confirmation page. When a user reaches that page, the tag reports to Twitter that a purchase event has occurred. Twitter then matches that event against the set of users who have viewed or engaged with any valid Promoted Tweet campaign without identifying who viewed or engaged with the Promoted Tweet.

Tailored Audiences
With tailored audiences Sarent reaches users on Twitter who have shown interest in our brand or our category even away from Twitter, e.g. targeting users who have recently visited our website. To get the ads to those people who are also on Twitter, we share browser-related information (browser cookie ID) with Twitter through an ads partner. Twitter matches that information to Twitter accounts in order to show the matched users a Promoted Tweet. The end result is a highly relevant and useful message for the user.

Opt-out for Twitter users
Twitter users can simply uncheck the box next to “Promoted content” in their privacy settings, and Twitter will not match their account to information shared by our advertisers for tailoring ads.
